Edward Sanders, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born on January 14, 1948, in St. Louis, Missouri. He is preceded in death by his parents June and Arnold Sanders and his beloved sister Sherry Mann.
Edward lived a life defined by kindness, dedication, and a deep appreciation for family and friends. Those who knew him remember his warm spirit, steady presence, and willingness to help others whenever he could.
He had a special love for the outdoors, particularly fly fishing, and delighted in sharing this passion with his grandchildren. Edward taught them not only how to fish but also how to tie flies, passing on his knowledge, patience, and love for the craft. These moments on the water, full of laughter and lessons, were among his greatest joys.
Veteran of the Vietnam War Edward honorably served his country in the Vietnam War, demonstrating courage and dedication that would mark his character for the rest of his life. After his military service, he proudly worked for the railroad and later dedicated decades to World's Finest Chocolate, where he built lasting friendships and was known for his strong work ethic, commitment, and humor.
Edward is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Sanders, and his children: Jeff Sanders (Julie), Natalie Alexander (Rick), Patrick Sanders (Candice), and Marybeth Greenough (Chris). He was a devoted husband and father who treasured time spent with his family and took great pride in their lives and accomplishments.
He was a proud grandfather to Kaylin Alexander, Luke Alexander, Jake Alexander, Cooper Sanders, Isabella Sanders, Zach Sanders, and Mackenzie Alexander, each of whom brought him great joy. He was also a loving Uncle to his niece and nephews.
Edward will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
